Please see the below update from the National Weather Service (NWS) New Orleans / Baton Rouge regarding Hurricane Francine.
- Francine is now a category 2 hurricane and made landfall near Houma.
 - There have been no significant changes to the track or expected impacts.
 - East Baton Rouge Parish is under the following watches and warnings:
 - Hurricane Warning
 - Flood Watch until 7:00 AM tomorrow morning
 - 2-5” of rainfall is forecasted for EBR with locally higher amounts possible through Friday. 
 - Exact totals will depend on where the heavier bands set up. Locally, most rain will occur today and tonight.
 - The NWS is currently forecasting worst timing for winds in EBRP from 7:00 PM this eveningthrough 2:00 AM early tomorrow morning. 
 - The projected wind speeds will depend on the exact track of the storm. The NWS is still forecasting, 60-70 mph sustained and gusts of up to 75-85 mph possible during the above timeframe.
