A VITAL SIGNS Community Conversation is NOT a presentation to parents. It is a shared learning discussion led by parents, for parents, in support of parents. It’s about coming together to get informed and share questions, concerns, personal experiences and the different bits of wisdom we have all earned along the way.
As a VITAL SIGNS facilitator, they will empower you with the tools and resources to start lifesaving conversations with families.

SPRING 2026 DRAINAGE SUMMIT WEDNESDAY, MAY 13, 2026 This summit will provide residents with valuable insights into the latest flood risk communication tools, updates to drainage system maintenance and improvements, regulatory advancements, and major ongoing projects such as the addition of stormwater detention capacity and channel upgrades.

Today, on the National Day of Prayer, we recognize the long-standing tradition of Americans coming together in reflection, gratitude, and hope for our communities and our nation.
As Mayor, I encourage all residents, regardless of faith, tradition, or personal beliefs, to take a moment today in whatever way is meaningful to you: through prayer, meditation, service, or quiet reflection. Days like this remind us of the values that unite us as neighbors: compassion, humility, perseverance, and care for one another.
We are fortunate to live in a country founded on the freedom of religion and the freedom from government establishment of religion. Our diversity of beliefs is one of our greatest strengths, and mutual respect is essential to maintaining a strong and vibrant community.
Please join me in praying for wisdom for our leaders, safety for our first responders and military personnel, healing for those facing hardship, and continued unity and strength for our city and nation.

"While we are flushing you may possibly experience lower pressure than normal and could have a tint in the water. If you use any water in your home during the posted flush times you may draw this water into your plumbing system. Toilets and hot water heaters have tanks that can keep this water around long after we are done. If you continue to have discoloration or cloudy water atter the posted flush has ended, please let the cold water tap in your kitchen run for approximately 3-5 minutes. If the cold water in the kitchen is clear and the hot water and toilets still have a tint, they may require a brief flush. If any of these issues continue after the posted flush times, please call us at 225-925-2011."
