Yesterday and today mark the 9th anniversary of the flood that shook our community, region and lives. I'd like to remind everyone that August is National Emergency Management Awareness Month, but Emergency Management is a year-round effort. This summer, let's raise awareness, share stories and remind people why our work matters to the safety and recovery of our communities and organizations. #NationalEmergencyManagementAwarenessMonth

Wax Road Update--Asphalt being applied starting this Saturday!

wax road update
"While we are flushing you may possibly experience lower pressure than normal and could have a tint in the water. If you use any water in your home during the posted flush times you may draw this water into your plumbing system. Toilets and hot water heaters have tanks that can keep this water around long after we are done. If you continue to have discoloration or cloudy water after the posted flush has ended, please let the cold water tap in your kitchen run for approximately 3-5 minutes. If the cold water in the kitchen is clear and the hot water and toilets still have a tint, they may require a brief flush. If any of these issues continue after the posted flush times, please call us at 225-925-2011."

🎉📚 A Message from the City of Central’s Mayor’s Office 📚🎉 We wish you a fantastic day back to school, students! As we kick off the new year and students head back to school after the summer break, let’s all remember to stay safe on the roads. 🚸🚙 Parents and caregivers, please be mindful of school zones (NO phones allowed and speed matters!), and remind your students to look both ways before crossing. Drivers, let’s keep our eyes peeled for school buses and pedestrians—our kids’ safety is in our hands! 🚌❤️ And don’t forget your carpool rules and manners! 😜 Simple acts of kindness can make a big difference during drop-off and pick-up times. (This applies to all areas of driving and not just in the carpool line.) 🌟✏️ #BackToSchool #SafetyFirst #NewYearNewGoalst #CityOfCentral

Embrace challenges, seek knowledge, and strive for excellence in everything you do. Welcome back, students! Make this year a memorable and successful one. Don't count the days, but make the days count. One day, before you know it, you'll realize they go by too fast.
