Thursday night, over 20 residents joined us at the CENTRAL 2045 Public Workshop to help shape the future of our city! 🙌 The workshop focused on the Future Land Use Map, a vital component of the Comprehensive Master Plan. City of Central Department of Public Works Today the City of Central's Department of Public Works held its weekly meeting to address citizens’ concerns and review progress on ongoing projects throughout the city. These discussions are a vital part of ensuring our roads and community spaces continue to serve residents efficiently and safely. Lane Regional Medical Center celebrated a historic milestone today with the ribbon cutting and grand opening of its state-of-the-art new tower. Lane's new addition in Zachary is another example of their commitment to delivering exceptional care for the entire Capital Region — including right here in the City of Central. From emergency services to specialized care, their team is here for our residents when it matters most.

Wax Road Update--Asphalt being applied starting this Saturday!

"While we are flushing you may possibly experience lower pressure than normal and could have a tint in the water. If you use any water in your home during the posted flush times you may draw this water into your plumbing system. Toilets and hot water heaters have tanks that can keep this water around long after we are done. If you continue to have discoloration or cloudy water after the posted flush has ended, please let the cold water tap in your kitchen run for approximately 3-5 minutes. If the cold water in the kitchen is clear and the hot water and toilets still have a tint, they may require a brief flush. If any of these issues continue after the posted flush times, please call us at 225-925-2011."

There will be a single-lane closure Thursday, August 14th on eastbound Hooper Road near the bridge by Foster Road. We are sharing this update to help keep our citizens informed, as we know many of you travel this route regularly.

The traffic lights at Wax and Sullivan are now operating correctly.

Elissa Lane will be fully closed at the intersection of Highland Lake Avenue beginning Tuesday, August 12 starting at 7AM through Monday, August 25 ending at 5:00 PM due to construction.
