"While we are flushing you may possibly experience lower pressure than normal and could have a tint in the water. If you use any water in your home during the posted flush times you may draw this water into your plumbing system. Toilets and hot water heaters have tanks that can keep this water around long after we are done. If you continue to have discoloration or cloudy water atter the posted flush has ended, please let the cold water tap in your kitchen run for approximately 3-5 minutes. If the cold water in the kitchen is clear and the hot water and toilets still have a tint, they may require a brief flush. If any of these issues continue after the posted flush times, please call us at 225-925-2011."

UPDATE 9:00AM— Hooper & Greenwell Springs Road has been cleared and is now open!

The City of Central has always approached government differently. Today, we took another important step to ensure public safety remains a top priority while expanding the spirit of collaboration that has long served our community. Mayor Wade Evans and Sheriff Sid Gautreaux signed a cooperative endeavor agreement that continues and strengthens our partnership with the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office, providing Central’s citizens with robust law enforcement protection. This innovative “hybrid” approach allows the City to keep long-term legacy costs under control while efficiently delivering the public-safety services our citizens deserve and expect. Just as importantly, it allows us to maintain our focus and resources on repairing infrastructure and completing critical drainage projects. Government is evolving, and Central is leading the way. We believe this model will be studied and replicated by other communities in the years ahead. This partnership has been discussed for nearly 20 years. Today, it finally became a reality.

From working “9 to 5” to reminding us “I Will Always Love You,” Dolly’s music, generosity, and heart have touched generations. So this week, we’re adding a little “Pink” and a whole lot of sparkle to Central in tribute to an icon who has made the world a brighter place. 💕✨
