24 years ago today, America faced the unimaginable. September 11th brought horrific tragedy and loss but also showed us true heroism and sacrifice. Our thoughts today and everyday are with the victims, families, responders, and survivors of 9/11. We will NEVER forget 9/11/01. 🇺🇸

"While we are flushing you may possibly experience lower pressure than normal and could have a tint in the water. If you use any water in your home during the posted flush times you may draw this water into your plumbing system. Toilets and hot water heaters have tanks that can keep this water around long after we are done. If you continue to have discoloration or cloudy water after the posted flush has ended, please let the cold water tap in your kitchen run for approximately 3-5 minutes. If the cold water in the kitchen is clear and the hot water and toilets still have a tint, they may require a brief flush. If any of these issues continue after the posted flush times, please call us at 225-925-2011."

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists that traffic will be shifted to temporary pavement along LA 3034 Sullivan Road between Wax and Hooper Rd. starting Wednesday, September 10, to Monday, December 15, 2025.
For the duration of this traffic shift:
· Access from Central Woods Ave. to Sullivan Rd. will be closed.
· Access from Central Woods Ave. to Willowbrook Dr. will remain open.
This closure is required to remove and replace roadway pavement, concrete drives, walks and drainage structures.
This closure is subject to change due to adverse weather conditions.
DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the work zone and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.
We're thankful for the progress!

Mayor Wade Evans is working with Fentanyl Fathers and with Victoria's Voice Foundation to raise awareness and bring awareness to our middle and high school kids in Central. 279 people a day are dying from Fentanyl poisoning. Imagine a 747 aircraft crashing every single day. How long before we ground all airplanes? We see the 911 calls for unresponsive people in our little utopia of the City of Central. It is real. Our children are dying because of our ignorance. We have to remove the stigma of talking about it. One pill can kill. Watch the 45-minute video. Our middle and high school students need to know the danger! Let's save this generation. #SpreadingAwareness #OnePillCanKill #stepup #speakout #fightback
🌟 City of Central Public Works in Action 🌟
Our Public Works team completed important improvements to the stormwater culverts along Hooper Road. Take a look at these before and after photos — what a difference!
Projects like this help improve drainage, reduce flooding risks, and keep our community moving forward.
We are proud of the hard work and dedication shown by our crews, and we thank our residents for their continued support as we work together to make Central a better place to live, work, and grow.

Mayor Wade Evans, Planning Director Taurus Freeman, and Economic Development Director Ron Erickson are currently reviewing and marking up the Future Land Use Plan as part of the City of Central’s 2045 Master Plan.
The Master Plan serves as the city’s guiding document for future growth and development. Since becoming involved in local government, Mayor Evans has consistently emphasized that development in Central should follow the principles outlined in this plan.
When the original Master Plan was created, key infrastructure such as the Central Thruway and Magnolia Bridge had not yet been built, and Sullivan Road remained a two-lane roadway. As Central continues to grow and infrastructure evolves, it is critical that our plans are updated to reflect these changes and ensure that development decisions align with the city’s long-term vision.
