HURRICANE FRANCINE UPDATE - 9/11, 5PM https://www.central-la.gov/article/1759599

Weather Update 1pm: The most severe impact is expected to occur between Wednesday, 8pm and Thursday, 2am, with projected wind speeds of 60-70 mph in East Baton Rouge Parish. Potential issues may arise due to fallen trees and road blockages. All necessary resources are currently in place, and shelter locations are available at St. Vincent de Paul. Additional shelter locations will be determined based on damage assessments. For emergencies related to life and safety, please contact 911. If you encounter a downed tree, exercise caution and avoid approaching it if power lines may be involved. Sandbags are available at the old Lovett Road Park in the rear parking lot. Our Emergency Operations Center is active, and we will be monitoring and communicating important updates continuously. We appreciate your patience and resilience during this event, and will continue to provide updates as new information becomes available.

Please be advised that our preventative roadside maintenance crew will be mobilizing on 9/5/24 to Glenn Watts Rd. to start ditch excavation on Phase 1 of the Boganvilla COC Roadside Project. Brandon Janet, our Drainage Supervisor, has placed door hangers in this area to alert citizens of the impending work. This project is divided into Phase 1 and Phase 2. Please see the attached map for details.
